  • To make sure your payments are on time – If you have any late payments over the last 1-12 months, this can cause you not to get a better interest rate.
  • That you’re not over the limit or close to being maxed out on your balance – If you are close to being maxed out on your card, they know they have you as a costumer for a while and you’re not using your card correctly. 
  • That you pay more than your minimum payment each month – If you are paying more than your minimum payments and on time each month. There is a good chance something will happen for you.
  • The account is over 1 year old – With the new credit card laws out now.  There is no rate change up or down in the first year a new account is opened. Unless if it on a promotion of some kind.
